Tired of spending a fortune on beauty treatments? Instead of heading to the dermatologist, plastic surgeon or beauty salon, go to your kitchen, wherein lies a store of pantry beauty ingredients.

Potatoes. A starchy kitchen staple finds a new use as a skin-brightening scrub that moisturizes your skin. Mix equal parts shredded raw potato and loose tea. A one-third measurement of olive oil completes the scrub.

Bananas. Mash up a ripe banana and spread it all over your face for a homemade mask. You can also combine half a banana, two tablespoons of full-fat sour cream and a tablespoon of honey for an even more effective mask. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes, rinse and apply moisturizer for best results. Applying a mashed banana with half an avocado for 30 minutes moisturizes parched hair as well.

Coconut milk. Quench dry hair with this inexpensive homemade mixture: Combine half a can of store-bought coconut milk with half a mashed avocado, apply to your hair for 20 minutes then rinse.

Tea bags. Brew a stout cup of fully caffeinated tea with two tea bags. Let the tea bags cool and place them under your eyes to remove puffiness.

Kosher salt. Add sexy texture and volume to your hair with this easy solution: Mix 3 teaspoons of Kosher salt with 3 ounces of water and a couple squirts of hair gel. Apply evenly to hair.

Oatmeal. EcobeautySecret.com recommends oatmeal for beautiful skin. Mix a tablespoon of it with 3 tablespoons of plain yogurt and a tablespoon of honey to exfoliate your skin.

Oranges. This requires no mixing or preparation. Just cut the orange into wedges, shower, squirt the juice onto various body parts (not the eyes) and rub it in to exfoliate the skin. Rest dry elbows in cut grapefruit halves and say hello to smooth, moisturized elbows.

Asparagus. Purée raw asparagus with milk. Add an equal amount of avocado and honey, apply to a clean face, leave for 15 minutes and rinse.
