There is nothing better then a good campfire in the summer, but unfortunately this usually requires sleeping in a tent and avoiding bears all night. For those of us wanting to take the camp out of campfire, here is how to throw a party in the great outdoors from the comfort of your home.

Fire up the fire pit: Building a pit from scratch is authentically fun, but if you don’t have the space, know-how or time, quality patio fire pits can be purchased for under $150.

Keep the kids entertained: Kids love tents whether or not they are in the forest. Pitching one in the backyard will be sure to unleash their inner wilderness spirits.

More than s’mores: While swapping ghost stories, roast everything from hot-dogs to marshmallows to popcorn. If you’re feeling extra adventurous (as you should since you’re “camping” for the evening), try something new and give our Banana Split S’mores and Snakes on a Stick a try.
