Believe it or not my kids don’t like peanut butter, so unlike most parents, I could never fall back on peanut butter sandwiches when there was nothing else in the pantry. However this is a problem when I have a craving for peanut butter cookies, which they don’t embrace either.

So in the past I’ve replaced peanut butter with almond butter, or depending on my mood and frame of mind toward my children, made them anyway. This time, however, at the last minute, I decided to use tahini (known to most folks as the predominant flavor in hummus).  I also tossed in some malt powder. Delicious. I took them to work, and made all my coworkers guess what flavor they were, and stumped them all. They’re peanut-free too.
